My kid looks like she’s been in a brawl!
February 19, 2007At the moment, Widget’s face looks like she was in a brawl or a bar fight. She has a slight black eye and nasty scrape by her left eye (finally fading) from hurtling herself into the back of the couch, right where the frame is, last Wednesday. Yesterday, she scratched that same side on a decorative pillow my MIL had on their couch. When I picked her up from daycare- side note I found a wonderful in-home woman to watch her one day a week- she had fallen while playing outside and now has a scrape on the right side of her face to match the first one.
To top that off, today she woke up with a blotchy rash around her mouth, plus her top lip looks a little swollen, though I’m not sure how that happened. Since I couldn’t fit either of the two appointments that were open for tomorrow, I made an appointment on Wednesday with PH to make sure it isn’t something contagious like hand-foot-mouth or impetigo. Of course, if it is, it’s too late for her cousin- they shared a cup yesterday after AE swiped Widget’s to drink out of - and the other kids at daycare, although that could be where she got it.
Oh, the joys of having a toddler!
Ah yes, isn’t it lovely how they seem to just “collect” scrapes of unknown origins?

Poor Widget. Hope she is feeling better soon.
